What I Do:

Just look at all those sticky notes...

Conventional Resume Format

(Last update was February, 2023)

I began my career in art years ago, not in a studio, not in an arts program or even an inspirational book. I began to explore my talents as a form of doodling, to numb the pain of homework.

My seven years spent in art lessons has given me an attitude of improving skills which require extensive practice to master. During my seven years at weekly after school art lessons, I learned various forms of visual art like sketching, oil painting, Chinese painting and calligraphy. In these lessons, I have had experience using the color wheel, leading to better color control in my paintings. In addition to ideas like understanding the color wheel, I have also had sessions in ink, oil, and water color usage. Through these classes I have learned to combine these concepts of light, shadow, proportion, and perspective with my skills in color control. But most importantly, my time spent in art has allowed me to obtain painting techniques like dry brushing and fading, and sketching techniques including shading, smudging, and Cross-hatching. While sharpening my skills in art, it was satisfying to have the privilege of being invited to show my works in multiple art exhibitions.

I think I may have gained some weight...

My 4 years at Rhode Island School of Design and 2 years at the Royal College of Art have given me a solid foundation to think, not only as a Designer, but as a problem solver. I am comfortable performing a wide range of job duties; as a tactile learner, I am completely on-board with the “messy” and methodological approach as long as I am able to engage with customers and the people I work with. I am eager to contribute my enthusiasm and skills to your organization and to grow in this position. My educational background has given me a solid understanding of the Design industry; I am eager to further my training as a Designer.

My resume will give you a greater understanding of my qualifications. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
